Research on Language and Social Interaction

colleagues remembered

Charles Antaki's online resources

• Introductory tutorial on Conversation Analysis

This on-line tutorial works through video clips to give a sense of what transcription is like, and what sort of analysis CA offers. It is available for anyone who wants to know something about the study of talk in interaction.

•  Analysing Talk and Text

Course for Barcelona students, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, 2004 and 2007

This course of lectures (in English) sets Conversation Analysis in the context of other forms of Discourse Analysis. I suspect that it's probably only intelligible to someone who'd followed the course in the lectures and seminars, but the interested student is welcome to browse.

•  Analysing Talk in Interaction

Course for Odense students, Syddansk Universitat, Denmark, 2003

Lectures for this course (in English) concentrate more closely on Conversation Analysis. Again, not all the material will make sense by itself, but the pages are available to anyone interested in browsing.

•  A slide presentation of Discourse Analysis

Course for students, University of Verona, Italy, 2013

Slides of a lecture/workshop for this course (in English) describing the range of Discourse Analysis. Useful as an overview, with worked examples.

•  A slide presentation of Conversation Analysis

Course for students, University of Verona, Italy, 2013

Slides of a lecture/workshop for this course (in English) concentrating on Conversation Analysis. Useful as a short account, again with examples.
